Heavy thunderstorms prevented the salvage of a motorboat in Lake Lucerne on Wednesday afternoon. The boat had sunk on Tuesday evening.

An oil barrier was then set up between Meggenhorn and Hertenstein because fuel had leaked out. Urs Wigger from the Lucerne police confirmed a report by Pilatus Today and Tele 1 on request. It is still unclear why the boat sank.

The five people on the motorboat had been picked up by another vessel. One person suffered minor injuries, said Wigger. The others were unharmed.

The sunken boat was located on Wednesday. However, the first salvage attempt failed due to the weather conditions, and a second attempt is to follow on Friday.
