During the night of Friday, residents of Stein AG and Bözen AG observed suspected thieves. Police patrols were able to stop and arrest one suspect in each case shortly after the alarm was raised, according to the Aargau cantonal police.

The residents of a detached house in Stein AG noticed shortly after 1 a.m. that two strangers were tampering with the bicycles parked in the open garage, according to the police. The strangers disappeared again without any loot. A patrol then encountered a suspect in the neighboring village of Eiken AG who matched the reported signaling.
Shortly after 5.30 a.m., a resident of Bözen AG reported that an unknown person was sneaking around parked cars and operating the door handles. The Brugg regional police then stopped a suspect with possible stolen goods in the neighboring village of Effingen AG, it was reported.
The arrested men are 28-year-old asylum seekers from Morocco and Algeria respectively, according to the Aargau cantonal police.
