Unknown persons stole three suitcases of money from a vehicle belonging to a cash-in-transit company in Bern on Thursday afternoon. They are on the run, as reported by the Bern cantonal police on Friday.

The theft from a parked van took place on Weiermattstrasse, the police said in a statement on Friday. According to current information, the perpetrators smashed a side window of the vehicle.
They stole three suitcases of money and then fled with the loot in an unknown direction, according to the statement. No one was in the vehicle at the time of the burglary.
Despite an immediate search by numerous emergency services, the police were unable to stop the perpetrators. The Bern cantonal police have launched an investigation.
