The Zurich cantonal police discovered and seized ten kilograms of cocaine in a car on the A3 in Richterswil on Tuesday. A police patrol had previously noticed the vehicle because it was "driving very unsafely in the direction of Chur", as the police reported on Wednesday.

During the check, the police suspected that something was wrong with the driver or the car, as the press release explains.

A drug-sniffing dog then showed "great interest in the center console of the car". Vehicle specialists from the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security then dismantled the interior. They discovered a cavity containing the drugs.

The driver of the vehicle, a 52-year-old Albanian resident in Germany, was arrested and handed over to the public prosecutor's office.
