Education Used laptops from Bern for Ukrainian schools

The Canton of Bern has donated 500 used laptops to Ukrainian schools. Ukrainian Ambassador Iryna Venediktova asked the canton in May whether it could provide used laptops and notebooks.

The devices, which had been in use at the canton for three to five years and whose leasing contract had expired, were reinstalled. Finance Director Astrid Bärtschi met with Venediktova at the beginning of September for a symbolic handover of the devices.

They will primarily be used in schools in the Zaporizhia region in the south of the country. They will be used by both teaching staff and pupils, the Bernese State Chancellery and Finance Directorate wrote in a press release on Monday.
