Traffic accident Young driver has an accident in a tunnel in the canton of Uri

An 18-year-old driver had an accident in the Harderband Tunnel between Bauen and Isleten UR on Sunday evening. He was seriously injured in the accident.

The motorist was driving towards Altdorf at 10 p.m., the Uri cantonal police reported on Monday. In the right-hand bend of the Harderband tunnel, the car skidded against the left and then the right tunnel wall. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined, according to the statement issued on Monday morning.

The injured person was taken by ambulance to Uri Cantonal Hospital. The police put the damage to property at 4,000 Swiss francs.
