The Thurgau cantonal police have tracked down a learner driver who was driving his motorcycle "massively" too fast through Bischoffszell TG. According to the police, the 18-year-old was flashed several times in recent months without license plates on his motorcycle. One measurement showed 104 km/h in urban areas.

Between March 13 and May 1, the motorcyclist was recorded seven times by a speed measuring device in urban areas, as the Thurgau cantonal police wrote on Thursday. The 18-year-old exceeded the speed limit on his motorcycle by at least 23 km/h each time.

After deducting the safety margin, the measurement showed that he was exceeding the speed limit by 50 km/h on one occasion. This corresponds to a speeding offense, the police added.

Although the motorcycle's license plate was falsified or partially missing, the police were able to identify an 18-year-old Swiss national from the canton of St. Gallen. He had been on the road without a driver's license for the relevant category on some of the journeys. The young man confessed. He had to surrender his learner's license.
