Traffic accident Two young men arrested after an accident in Volketswil
Police arrested two young men on Saturday evening following a self-driving accident involving a sports car. They are suspected of speeding.

The accident on Zentralstrasse in Volketswil was reported to the Zurich cantonal police on Saturday evening at around 9.40 pm, as reported on Monday. The person who caused the accident immediately drove away from the scene.
A short time later, a man involved in the accident also contacted the cantonal police. The patrol that had already been deployed encountered two young men with a damaged car.
Based on the evidence and statements from witnesses, the police assume that the car was traveling at an inappropriate speed. The sports car drove over a raised kerb onto the sidewalk and collided with the wooden post of a border.
Neither the occupants of the car nor the people waiting at the bus stop were injured in the accident. The two men involved, a 22-year-old Italian and a Swiss man of the same age, were arrested and taken to a police station. The suspected driver will be taken to the public prosecutor's office on suspicion of having committed a speeding offense.
