The investigations into this matter were carried out by the Youth Ombudsman's Office of the Canton of Bern, it said. The municipality has no information on the status of the proceedings. It is clear that no direct costs will be charged to the municipality for the police operation on the occasion of the amok alarm.
The alarm was triggered on April 30. According to the municipal council, it suggested a threatening situation. For safety reasons, the schoolchildren were briefly detained in the classrooms before lunchtime. The all-clear was given after the police operation.
The existing crisis concept was applied as planned, the municipal council stated on Friday. It had proven to be practicable. Naturally, such incidents always reveal room for improvement. The municipal council has commissioned further investigations or has already implemented measures.
