The 19-year-old highly talented Ndiaye convincingly won the first duel against the South American with Ippon. The next opponent for the daughter of a Swiss mother and a Senegalese father is Gefen Primo from Israel, who is five years older and finished third at the World Championships in Budapest three years ago.

Ndiaye was selected for the Games in Paris after a neck-and-neck race with Fabienne Kocher. In the final world rankings, she is number 16, just one position ahead of the athlete from Aargau.
