Germany also win their second game at the home Euros. Julian Nagelsmann's team beat Hungary 2:0 in Stuttgart, with Jamal Musiala and Ilkay Gündogan scoring.

As a result, the hosts of this European Championship come even closer to a summer fairytale. Germany will reach the round of 16, which they failed miserably to reach at the last two World Cups in Russia and Qatar.

The second performance against the Hungarians was not as brilliant as the first on Friday against the Scots (5:1). Certainly, Germany dominated the game. But the Hungarians created the better scoring chances - the first through Roland Sallai after just a few seconds.

Neuer...

If the second European Championship match led to one realization for the black, red and gold, then it was that Manuel Neuer is right to stand in front of goal. Neuer produced some brilliant saves against Sallai (1st) and even made a double save from a brilliant free-kick by Dominik Szoboszlai (26th).

The cheers of the 51,000 spectators in the Neckarstadion after these saves by Neuer were just as loud as when the German goals were scored in the 22nd minute of both halves. In the first half, captain Ilkay Gündogan followed up, won the ball in the Hungarian five-meter area and laid it on for Jamal Musiala, who shot in. In the second half, Gündogan scored with a direct shot after a fine feed from full-back Maximilian Mittelstädt.

... and Musiala

Jamal Musiala! At Bayern Munich for five years, previously trained at Chelsea. It is mainly thanks to Musiala that what is to become "Summer Fairytale 2.0" is gathering pace in the first week of the European Championship. At 21 years and 119 days old, Musiala is the third-youngest player to score in two consecutive matches at a European Championship finals. Only England's Wayne Rooney (at 18) and Hungary's Ferenc Bene (also 21, but five days younger than Musiala at the time) were even younger.

While Germany will go into their final preliminary round match against Switzerland on Sunday without any pressure, the Hungarians will have to worry because even after their last group match against Scotland on Sunday, they will not know whether a single win will be enough to reach the round of 16. Compared to the game against Switzerland, the Hungarians have improved. This barometer of form gives the Magyars hope for at least the next four days.
