"The best night"

"This is the best night of my life," cheered Roman Mityukov after winning bronze in the 200 m backstroke. Before the race, Mityukov was afraid of failing. "I wouldn't have been able to cope if I had come away empty-handed. The day before the best night was far from the best. I tried to squeeze in a power nap several times. But it was awful. In fact, there was nothing else I could do but wait for the race."

Murray proves he has a sense of humor

Tennis star Andy Murray has commented on the end of his own career with biting British humor. "I never liked tennis anyway," the Scot wrote on X just a few minutes after his elimination from the Olympic Games in Paris. The two-time Wimbledon winner also changed his biography on the social media platform. "I play tennis" became "I played tennis". The 37-year-old was eliminated alongside Dan Evans in the quarter-finals of the Olympic doubles at Roland Garros against the US duo Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul.

Into the top 10 with fatherly joy

Aurélien Quinion is writing a very special story in Paris. First, the walker witnessed the birth of his daughter in hospital in his home city on Thursday night. A few hours later, the 31-year-old takes a cab through the capital to the Trocadéro and starts over 20 kilometers. Quinion sets a personal best time of 1:19:56 and finishes in the top 10 in ninth place.
