Swiss referee Sandro Schärer gets his second European Championship assignment.
The man from Schwyz has been nominated for the match between Portugal and Georgia on Wednesday evening in Gelsenkirchen. The 36-year-old made his European Championship debut on the first Sunday of the tournament in the match between Slovenia and Denmark in Stuttgart.
Schärer's assistant referee Stéphane De Almeida will not be used. As he has Portuguese roots, he will be replaced for this match by the German Stefan Lupp. The referee team will be completed by assistant Bekim Zogaj and video referee Fedayi San.
