The men's triathlon at the Games in Paris has been postponed by one day to Wednesday. The reason is the unsatisfactory water quality of the Seine.
The water is still too polluted, the organizers and the World Triathlon Federation announced on Tuesday morning. The competition is to be rescheduled for Wednesday morning.
Adrien Briffod and Max Studer will be competing in the triathlon for Switzerland. The water quality of the Seine did not allow the athletes to swim on Sunday or Monday.
There have been concerns for days about the organization of the competitions. Due to the rainfall on Friday and Saturday, the water of the Parisian river is polluted. Microbiological samples have shown that the limit values are still above the tolerable limit.
The women's race is scheduled to take place as planned on Wednesday before the men's competition at eight o'clock.
