The next Eurovision Song Contest will either take place in Basel or Geneva. This was announced by SRG on Friday. The bids from Zurich and Bern/Biel are out of the running. The final decision will be made at the end of August.

In Geneva, the Palexpo exhibition center right next to the airport would be the venue. The authorities there want to provide 30 million Swiss francs for the event.

If Basel is chosen, the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) will be held in the St. Jakobshalle. SRG intends to announce the final decision at the end of August.
