    Musician Nicki Minaj makes her fans angry. Her show was supposed to start at 11.30 pm, but the Queen of Rap is 40 minutes late. A DJ bridges the gap until Nicki finally arrives. Instead of leaving, the audience begins to boo. And when she finally arrives, the mood remains subdued during the first few songs.

    But as the show progresses, the fans slowly forgive her for her faux pas. They cheer, sing along and put their hands in the air.

    The sun is back on Saturday! The weather is at its best during Montez's concert. The German musician performs his mega hit "Auf & Ab" three times: first as an acoustic version, then as you know it and then as a party version. The crowd feels it and sings along loudly to the song.

    Rain, gray skies, lots of mud - when the weather doesn't play along at festivals, it can really put a damper on your mood. On Friday evening it rained at Openair Frauenfeld, creating a field of mud on the site.

    blue News host Bettina Bestgen wants to lift the dampened spirits of the rap fans and hands out compliments. One visitor catches her eye with his Hawaiian shirt. "It puts me in a summery mood," she says. A broad grin and a thank you are the reaction to her kind words - goal achieved! See more in the video.

    Skepta honors the audience at Openair Frauenfeld at 11 pm. The rapper is traveling from Leipzig, where he previously performed at a festival. In the stories, he shows his fans just how exclusive the Brit is coming to Switzerland.

    From 9.40 pm, the fans cheer on rapper Cro. The German musician with the panda mask appears on the South Stage and performs songs such as "Tempo" and "Bad Chick". One of his biggest hits is called "Bye Bye" - and that's what we say now.

    Because we're now mingling with the crowd, saying thank you for being there today and will be back tomorrow.

    This Openair Frauenfeld guest probably needs a long shower tonight. Because he lost a bet, he drops belly first into the mud. The brave mud diver hits the muddy ground with full force. His comment on the lost bet: "I'd do it again."

    On Thursday evening, the crowd at Openair Frauenfeld was spared the bad weather. With plenty of sunshine and summery temperatures, the rap fans celebrated on the Allmend yesterday. Today the rain radar is predicting precipitation, we'll keep you up to date.

    Yesterday, Apache 207 challenged the audience to do sports - and threw oversized balls into the crowd. The show was great, as were the beats. The line-up for tonight includes Cro, Offset, Playboi Carti and Ufo361.

    Rapper Xen: "I want to show my kids that they can achieve anything"

    He worked on his first album for four years before finally releasing it in 2015. Today, Xen performs on big stages like the one at Openair Frauenfeld on Thursday afternoon - and is a household name on the Swiss rap scene.

    The Dietiker comes across as reflective and at peace with himself. But that wasn't always the case: "My first album is called 'Ich gäge mich' and it really was a me-against-me," says the 34-year-old. Working on the album was a form of therapy for him. He believes that many people around him are struggling with trauma.

    In the video, the Swiss hip-hop musician raves about being a dad and talks about how rap has helped him.

    On Thursday afternoon, fans of dialect rap gather in front of the South Stage. Xen from Dietikon performs in front of an exuberant crowd, the sun is shining down from the sky - and the atmosphere is really heated up. You can find impressions of the concert in the gallery.

    Thursday evening at Openair Frauenfeld is then somewhat dominated by German rap. Bonez MC, Apache 207 and Ski Aggu are among those on stage tonight at the legendary hip-hop festival. You can even watch the former from the comfort of your own home .

    Welcome to the Openair Frauenfeld ticker

    blue News will be live on site when Frauenfeld is once again transformed into a music mecca for rap fans. From July 11 to 13, Europe's biggest festival for hip-hop beats will take place on the Allmend and we will be reporting regularly on everything that happens here in the Slow Ticker.

    On Wednesday evening there were already so-called "pre-shows" by some musicians. On today's "first real" festival day, the weather gods are being kind to the visitors and are making the rap fans really sweat. Temperatures of over 30 degrees are expected. So don't forget to drink! But the joy might be short-lived, because according to the Swiss government, heavy thunderstorms are expected throughout Switzerland soon.

    If you can't make it to Openair Frauenfeld, you can stay up to date with the blue News ticker. And best of all, you can watch various concerts live - from the comfort of your sofa on free TV on blue Zoom or streamed on blue News.

From July 11 to 13, thousands of hip-hop fans will once again make the pilgrimage to the Allmend in Frauenfeld. The largest hip-hop festival in Europe takes place there every year. This time, the promising line-up includes big names such as Playboi Carti, Nicki Minaj, Apache 207, 21 Savage and Gunna. Around 50,000 visitors are expected each day.

Will the weather gods be kind to the fans at Openair Frauenfeld? It's still a little uncertain. On Thursday morning, the federal government warns of potentially large thunderstorms throughout Switzerland. The heaviest storms are expected on Friday and Saturday. Rain or no rain - that doesn't diminish the joy of the hip-hop fans.

Openair Frauenfeld has been taking place since 1987 and is an integral part of the Swiss festival summer. Visitors make the pilgrimage from all over Europe to experience the biggest names in hip-hop live on the Allmend stage.
