Walking through the city these days, you often get the feeling that the waves of Lake Geneva are dancing to the sounds of the Jazz Festival.

One person who has a lot to say about this is festival director Mathieu Jaton. Many groundbreaking events in his life have taken place in Montreux. And many more groundbreaking events are yet to come.

Water, water, water

During the 16-day festival, the 45-year-old often feels like a marathon runner. Despite very long working days, he finds enough time to recover. His secret: "I don't sleep much, but I sleep well."

He also drinks a lot of water and listens to a lot of good music. Tomorrow evening, for example, he's going to see his absolute favorite musician: Björk. Born in Reykjavik, she will be performing this year accompanied by a symphony orchestra.
