For young people in particular, the pressure from social media is enormous. "They unconsciously start to ask themselves what they should eat and how they should dress in order to conform to the desired standard. This can have devastating consequences," said Fusaro. She also addressed addictive smartphone behavior: people keep scrolling because they want to see more and more, but at best they lose themselves in an illusory world.
To deal with social media sensibly herself, she says it helps to sit down, close her eyes and ask herself what she really can and wants to be. "That may sound simple, but it helps me a lot," the 27-year-old is quoted as saying. The virtual world also has positive sides, for example when it comes to enthusiasm and inspiration, the singer emphasized.
