The first festival fans have already traveled to the Sittertobel in St. Gallen. Visitors spent the night in front of the festival entrances from Tuesday. The Openair will finally open its doors on Thursday lunchtime. Around 30,000 music fans will populate the site every day.

Almost 90 bands on two stages are on the program for the 46th edition of the St. Gallen Openair. The main acts include singer-songwriter Tom Odell, alternative rockers The Hives and German rappers K.I.Z.

The festival is almost sold out shortly before it starts. Many of the visitors camp out on the Sitter site for four days, transforming it into a tent city until Sunday evening.

On Saturday morning, there will be a panel discussion on a socio-political topic. This year's topic will be the impact of the war in Ukraine on Ukrainian society and the opportunities to provide aid.
