Following a storm in the upper Maggia Valley, 550 calls have so far been received on the cantonal hotline set up specifically for this purpose. This was announced by the Ticino emergency services at a press conference in Locarno.

All information from callers had been followed up and dealt with, stated Antonio Ciocco, head of operations.

He added that excursions to the Bavona and upper Maggia valleys should be avoided at present.
