According to the authority, the disruption resulted in the loss of flight plan data and weather data in particular. It went on to say: "The disruption has been rectified and the systems have been up and running again since 10.25 a.m." However, the data lost during the disruption would have to be updated.

There were major problems at Germany's largest airport in Frankfurt: There were "considerable delays in operations and flight cancellations", according to the website of airport operator Fraport. The company said there were around 70 cancellations. "We do not expect many more cancellations because the problems have been resolved," said a spokesperson. The impact was therefore limited.

A Lufthansa spokesperson said that there were isolated flight cancellations and delays. Long-haul flights were not affected. There could still be effects on the network on Friday.

Passengers are advised to regularly check the flight status on the websites of the respective airlines, the airport operator advised.
