Council of Europe Berset wants to stand up for democracy and the rule of law

As Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset wants to stand up for democracy, human rights and the rule of law, among other things. He is also committed to a free and sovereign Ukraine.

This was revealed in a flyer from Berset's campaign, which was made available to a reporter from the Keystone-SDA news agency. On it, Berset introduces himself as the former President of Switzerland and Minister of Health, Social Affairs and Culture.

The first point listed was "A Council of Europe for a free and sovereign Ukraine". Berset also wanted to campaign for the regeneration and strengthening of democracy. He called for a strong commitment to human rights and global governance based on the rule of law. Finally, he wanted to make the Council of Europe fit for today and ready for tomorrow.
