After shots were fired in a Swedish shopping center, a boy under the age of 15 is suspected of the crime. He is the alleged perpetrator, who is accused of serious weapons offenses and two counts of attempted murder.

This was announced by the police. He is in custody and is currently being held in a home.

The shots were fired on Sunday afternoon in a shopping center in Kungsbacka, south of Gothenburg. A man aged around 25 was injured and the perpetrator was arrested. According to police reports, the young suspect not only shot at the actual victim, who is still in a stable condition in hospital, but also at the time of his arrest - which is why he is accused of two counts of attempted murder.

Sweden has been struggling for years with criminal gangs that have been involved in conflicts in numerous places in the country and are sometimes extremely violent. Shots are fired time and again. Underage teenagers like the suspect from Kungsbacka are often among the perpetrators and victims. However, it is still unclear whether the background to the incident in the shopping center also lies in the gang milieu.
