Thousands of people marched through the streets of Martigny (VS) on Saturday to mark Pride Romande. Under a scorching sun, they demanded the right to "be yourself, everywhere", the motto of this year's event.

In the early afternoon, a colorful crowd with feathers, sequins and LGBT+ Pride flags gathered on the Place du Manoir, moving to music and drum rhythms in a festive and relaxed atmosphere. Signs and T-shirts read: "T'as où la pride?", "Catho, pan et heureux" or "En Valais, on aime les Reines".

"I'm happy to see so many people, because the visitors give the locals strength and a voice," 72-year-old Patrice told the Keystone-SDA news agency. He had traveled all the way from Geneva and had been to all the Prides and "all the fights" so far.
