Climate Bernese party leaders agree on a "Green New Deal"
A cross-party alliance has been reached on climate policy in the canton of Bern. The leaderships of the FDP, SP, Greens, GLP, EVP and Mitte have agreed on a "Green New Deal".

Thanks to the charter, the canton should be able to create framework conditions for "effective sustainable development", according to a press release sent out by the Fokus Bern business initiative on Friday.
According to the agreement, the party leaders are jointly committed to ensuring that the canton of Bern makes an efficient contribution where it has the scope and potential to make a difference, taking into account international and national findings, strategies and objectives.
According to the paper, the canton of Bern should make targeted use of its potential. Thanks to its size, it is ideally placed to be a pioneer. Although the climate crisis is a global challenge, everyone should make a contribution where they can.
