Traffic accident Passenger car hit by streetcar while turning in Basel

A car was hit by a streetcar while turning into the Zolli parking lot on Binningerstrasse in Basel late Monday morning. The 21-year-old driver was uninjured. According to the Basel cantonal police, there were lengthy disruptions to streetcar services due to the recovery work.

The accident occurred shortly before 11.00 am. The car driver had overlooked a streetcar train coming from Heuwaage, which was traveling in the same direction, resulting in a collision.

The accident vehicles were still being recovered at lunchtime, it was reported.
