The British-American influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan are being sued in the UK for tax evasion. The two are accused of not having paid any tax on income amounting to 21 million pounds (almost 25 million euros), as the PA news agency reported from the courtroom in London. The money came from online sales and from the OnlyFans platform.

The Tate brothers' lawyer rejected the allegations. According to PA, he said at the hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court that the transfers in question were completely conventional.
Large number of bank accounts in the UK
The plaintiff's side sees things differently. Andrew Tate had even boasted about evading taxes in internet videos, PA quoted the lawyer for Devon and Cornwall Police, who is appearing as a plaintiff in the civil proceedings. The 37-year-old is alleged to have said: "When I lived in England, I refused to pay taxes."
According to the plaintiff, Tate and his brother (35) allegedly set up a large number of bank accounts in the UK in order to conceal their income. A woman, who was only referred to as "J" in the trial, is also alleged to have been involved.
Police want to confiscate funds
"This is what tax evasion looks like, this is what money laundering looks like," the plaintiff's lawyer said in court, according to PA. Seven accounts have now reportedly been frozen.
The police have applied to seize funds amounting to 2.8 million pounds (around 3.3 million euros) held in frozen accounts. A decision is due to be made on September 9.
In Romania, the judiciary is accusing the brothers and two suspected accomplices of human trafficking and rape. They are alleged to have forced young women to participate in commercially distributed sex videos. There has not yet been a trial there.
