Bern Two injured in garage fire in Villars-sur-Glâne FR

A fire broke out in the garage of a detached house in Villars-sur-Glâne on Wednesday afternoon. A pensioner couple had to be taken to hospital with smoke inhalation, according to the Fribourg cantonal police.

The house and garage on the Route des Martinets were badly damaged, as the police wrote in a statement on Thursday.

The police received the report of the fire at around 3.20 pm. On site, the emergency services noticed thick black smoke and banging noises. They were able to quickly bring the fire under control.

The exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
