Despite Di Giusto's brace FCZ deservedly wins cantonal derby against Winterthur

FC Zurich remains on course for success and wins its sixth match in a row this season. The 4:2 win against Winterthur was well deserved.

FC Winterthur managed to get back into the match twice, as if out of nowhere. Matteo Di Giusto equalized after half an hour to make it 1:1 and in the 51st minute to make it 2:2. Winterthur, who had already shown themselves to be masters of efficiency against FC St. Gallen last weekend, made the most of what they had shown.

FC Zurich, who had taken an early 1-0 lead through Bledian Krasniqi, fell slightly behind after half an hour because goalkeeper Yanick Brecher, who was making his 300th appearance for FCZ, of all people, initiated Di Giusto's first goal with a misplaced pass. However, Nikola Katic's reply was only just over 100 seconds away.

FCZ also responded quickly to the 2:2 with a converted penalty from Antonio Marchesano just eight minutes after the efficient Winterthur side had equalized again and ended the game with ten players after Remo Arnold, who had caused the penalty, was sent off. The final goal was scored by substitute Colombian Juan Perea, who made it 4:2 in the 95th minute after the hosts had missed a series of chances to score.

Man of the Match: Nicola Katic

"He was the boss of the defense, scored a goal and was the victim of the foul that led to a penalty." (blue Sport commentator Dani Wyler)

Rohner returns to his old stomping ground as a Winti player

Zurich and Winterthur, two teams that started the season with a win, meet at the Letzigrund. It will be a special match, especially for Fabian Rohner, who left his youth club FCZ in the summer after 132 competitive games and is now playing for the Winterthur team led by 35-year-old young coach Ognjen Zaric.
