With its urban design based on diversity, the format for promoting building culture in Brussels could serve as a model. The exhibition "Stadtmachen nach Brüsseler Art" at the Swiss Architecture Museum in Basel aims to provide inspiration in this regard.

"Brussels is not a pretty, harmonious city." This is what the Brussels Bouwmeester Maître Architecte (BMA) or master builder Kristiaan Borret said on Friday during a guided tour of the Swiss Architecture Museum Basel. With the exhibition "Soft Power - City Making Brussels Style", the museum has placed the work and influence of the BMA at the center.

In 15 examples, the exhibition aims to show how contemporary urban design can use the diversified complexity of urban life as a positive stimulus for architectural development.

The exhibition "Soft Power - Making Cities the Brussels Way" at the Swiss Architecture Museum Basel runs until March 16, 2025.
