Aleksander Kilde has suffered a setback on his way back to the race track. The Norwegian has to have another operation on his left shoulder.
An infection made the operation necessary, as Kilde wrote on Instagram. "I've been struggling with increasing pain in my operated shoulder in recent weeks, which actually seemed to be a normal reaction after increasing strain and more 'normal' training. But the problem turned out to be an infection."
Kilde is now being treated intravenously with antibiotics for six weeks "until the infection is gone. After these six weeks, we will see what the next steps will be," the northerner continued.
Kilde crashed in January in the Lauberhorn downhill in the finish S and crashed into the safety nets at high speed. He suffered a deep cut to his right calf and dislocated his left shoulder.
