Berlin-Brandenburg Airport is preparing for a huge rush of passengers in the German capital for the European Championship final. By Monday, around 250,000 passengers are expected to arrive or depart for the European Championship final.

Around 94,000 passengers are expected to arrive at BER on Monday alone, according to the airport. "The weekend with the Euro24 final is roughly comparable to travel days at the start or end of the summer or fall vacations or public holidays," said a spokeswoman.

In addition to normal scheduled flights, around 50 charter flights for around 10,000 fans have been registered for the final. These are mainly coming from Spain and England - in keeping with the two football teams in the final. "Such flights are organized by football associations or event organizers especially for fans," the airport said.

The airport advises travelers to prepare well for their departure in view of the large crowds and to take advantage of BER's digital services. Among other things, travelers at the German capital's airport can book an appointment for the security check in advance.

The final match of the 2024 European Football Championship will be played in Berlin on Sunday evening. Spain and England have qualified for the final.
