Following widespread criticism during the consultation process, the Federal Council has revised its plans for a more inclusive society. The scope of the new Inclusion Act now includes all people with disabilities and not just people who receive disability benefits.

This was announced by the state government on Wednesday. On the same day, it passed the dispatch to parliament on the indirect counter-proposal to the popular initiative "For the equality of people with disabilities (inclusion initiative)".

The inclusion initiative calls for equality for people with disabilities to be ensured in all areas of life and across all levels of legislation. It wants to establish new subjective rights in the constitution.

The Federal Council does not want to go that far. In its dispatch on the bill, it continued to believe that such concerns should primarily be dealt with in the respective special legislation after in-depth examination.

Parliament can now deal with this.
