The Swiss Armed Forces and the Aargau cantonal police have been training to work together since Tuesday. Interfaces and technology are also being tested at two locations in the canton and during the evening before the Aarau May procession, as the cantonal police announced.

Until early Friday morning, the army will once again be training together with the cantonal police for emergency situations. According to a press release issued by the Aargau cantonal police on Tuesday, it is important to check the interfaces in terms of coordination and technical equipment.

Part of the reconnaissance battalion 1 will accompany the cantonal police during checks and the evening before the May parade in Aarau. Several tens of thousands of visitors are again expected in Aarau during the night from Thursday to Friday.

Army drones in action

The army will accompany the cantonal police and carry out reconnaissance work to guide the large crowds of visitors safely. Swiss Armed Forces drones will also be deployed, it was reported.

Checkpoints will be set up on two days to control vehicles and people. The police will manage the checks.
