Canoeing. Canoeists Martin Dougoud and Alena Marx are hoping for a medal coup at the end of the slalom competitions in the Olympic white water channel in Vaires-sur-Marne. The man from Geneva and the woman from Bern are among the best in the spectacular discipline of kayak cross, which is celebrating its Olympic premiere at these summer games. The World Championship bronze medallist and the European champion have qualified for the final heats with aplomb. The quarter-finals start at 3.30 p.m. and the medal winners will be determined at around 5 p.m.
Riding. The Swiss show jumpers want to redeem themselves for the disgrace of failing to qualify in the team competition. Steve Guerdat, Martin Fuchs and Edouard Schmitz, who will be competing in place of Pius Schwizer, will be aiming for places in the finals of the individual competition. There are 30 pairs eligible to take part in Tuesday's decision.
Triathlon. After the individual competitions, the mixed relay competition is on the program. Julie Derron, the silver medal winner in the women's race, Cathia Schär, Max Studer and, as a replacement for Adrien Briffod and Simon Westermann, Sylvain Fridelance, who arrived at short notice, will be competing for Switzerland.
Athletics. Mujinga Kambundji, sixth in the 100 m, also wants to make it to the Olympic final in the double distance. The European champion starts her semi-final at 20:45. Angelica Moser is another Swiss medal hopeful who will be competing in the Olympics. The European pole vault champion will compete in the qualifying round from 10.40 am. European champion Timothé Mumenthaler, William Reais and Felix Svensson will also be taking to the track for the first time in the Stade de France. The trio will compete in the 200 m heats in the evening.
