Spettacolo MTV Video Music Awards: Kendrick Lamar protagonista

(Cover) - IT Showbiz - È stato Kendrick Lamar il grande protagonista della notte degli MTV Video Music Awards.

Il rapper - arrivato alla cerimonia di premiazione con ben otto nomination -, ha trionfato nelle categorie di Best Cinematography, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects, Best Hip Hop, ma soprattutto Best Video of The Year per la clip di «Humble.».

Per aggiudicarsi il premio di Video dell’anno, Lamar ha battuto la concorrenza di star mondiali come Bruno Mars (24K Magic), The Weeknd (Reminder), Alessia Cara (Scars To Your Beautiful) e Rihanna ft DJ Khaled e Bryson Tiller (Wild Thoughts).

«Ringrazio il Cielo per averci regalato questi talenti straordinari - ha dichiarato il 30enne alla platea del The Forum di Los Angeles -. Grazie per averci permesso di esprimere la nostra immaginazione e i nostri pensieri».

Un ringraziamento speciale Kendrick lo ha rivolto a Dave Free, regista della clip con cui ha trionfato: «Questo ragazzo è sempre stato un genio, è un piacere lavorare con lui, seriamente».

Ed Sheeran invece si è aggiudicato per la seconda volta il premio di Artist of the Year.

Il cantautore britannico si è poi esibito nella hit «Shape of You» con la collaborazione del rapper Lil Uzi Vert.

Serata indimenticabile per Pink, premiata alla carriera con il Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
