Sam Heughan avait auditionné pour jouer James Bond, mais avait perdu face à Daniel Craig. Maintenant que ce dernier prend sa retraite, il a confié à This Morning rêver de reprendre le flambeau.

Sam Heughan rêve toujours de jouer James Bond, après avoir passé le casting de Casino Royale. L'acteur avait en effet auditionné en 2002, après le départ de Pierce Brosnan, mais a finalement vu le rôle attribué à Daniel Craig, qui rendra le costume de James Bond après Mourir peut attendre.

« C'est évidemment un rêve pour tout acteur, explique le comédien de 40 ans à This Morning. J'ai auditionné pour le rôle il y a des années quand ils faisaient Bond 21 et que Daniel Craig a été pris. Je pense que beaucoup d'acteurs ont été auditionnés à l'époque. »

Sam Heughan est né en Ecosse, et selon lui, c'est gênant pour obtenir le rôle. En effet, le plus mémorable James Bond au cinéma reste l'interprétation de l'Ecossais Sean Connery. Difficile de s'y mesurer...
