Spettacolo David Fincher: in arrivo il prequel di «Chinatown»

David Fincher has helmed some of the most critically-acclaimed films of the last twenty years including BAFTA- and Oscar-winning hits The Social Network and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, as well as cult favourites Seven, Fight Club, and Palme d'Or-nominated Zodiac.Fincher received his first BAFTA-nomination for direction in 2009 for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which gained a total of eight BAFTA nominations and three wins, and numerous other accolades. In 2010, he was awarded a BAFTA for The Social Network, for which he also won a Golden Globe and received an Oscar-nomination. He is currently executive producer on the BAFTA-nominated television series House of Cards, and won a Primetime Emmy Award for directing the pilot episode.
Fincher's forthcoming film, Gone Girl, based on the mystery-thriller novel by Gillian Flynn and starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, will be released in the UK by Twentieth Century Fox on 3 October.

Il regista e Robert Towne sono al lavoro per sviluppare un prequel dell film di Roman Polanski con Jack Nicholson e Faye Dunaway.

David Fincher è al lavoro per sviluppare il prequel di «Chinatown».

Il film neo-noir di Roman Polanski uscito nel 1974, avrà un prequel commissionato da Netflix.

Si tratta del racconto antecedente le vicende narrate nel film «Chinatown», dove figuravano nel cast Jack Nicholson e Faye Dunaway. La pellicola si aggiudicò all’epoca 11 nomination agli Oscar, portandone a casa uno per la migliore sceneggiatura originale a Robert Towne.

A sviluppare l’episodio pilota per la tv saranno Robert Towne e il regista David Fincher, ingaggiati da Netflix.

I due vantano già ottimi trascorsi cinematografici: Robert Towne ha collaborato alla realizzazione di importanti script come «Il Padrino» e «Gangster Story», realizzando invece quelli di «Giorni di tuono», «Il socio» e dei primi due film della saga di «Mission: Impossible».

David Fincher vanta invece una recente collaborazione con Netflix in «House of Cards», «Love», «Death & Robots» e «Mindhunter».
